Hostas

Now I know that most people would think that I would put the Hosta section in with Gardening.

But to me, they are a whole world unto themselves.

I love foliage a tad bit more than I love flowers.

We had been in our new house about a year, and I was recovering from knee surgery, so my husband was going to the local garden center by himself.  He asked if there was something I would like him to get.  I said, "I would like some large hostas".  "Hostas?", he said like I was crazy.  "We have all those hostas from our friends garden."  "No, I want some of those "fancy hostas", I said.

So off he went to the garden center and came back with Hosta Francis Williams and Sum & Substance.

So . . . I love being right especially when it comes to my husband!

He thought they were cool and once I was ambulatory we went and got somewhat obsessive about the whole project and bought a lot of hostas and the obsession continues until this day.  It is trouble when a couple are both obsessed about the same thing.

Now we have several hundred hostas and Don, my husband, is busy making more beds so we can get more hostas.
